WCIT 2017 FORUM Taipei :Fulfilling the Promise of the Digital Age: Building and Sharing the Dream

The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT), often referred as the “Olympics” of the ICT industry, is the flagship event organized by the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) since 1978. As a premier global ICT congress, WCIT brings together more than 2,000 global leaders in business, government and academia from over 80 countries to impact economic and social development through the exchange of policies, practices, trends and ideas on ICT. Under the theme “Fulfilling the Promise of the Digital Age: Building and Sharing the Dream”, Taiwan will host WCIT again (after WCIT 2000) in 2017 and will invite the world to witness our transformation from a leading ICT manufacturer to a turnkey solution provider of smart city applications. To officially announce that Taiwan will host WCIT 2017, the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB), Minister of Economic Affairs (MOEA) organizes a forum lecture series to discuss opportunities and challenges associated with smart sustainable cities in the Internet of Things (IoT) economy. In addition to prestigious leaders sharing their visions and discussing the latest technology trends through keynote speech and roundtable discussion, the first forum will feature an inaugural ceremony to brief on the significance of WCIT 2017 and to debut the “mobile experience” scenarios specially designed for congress delegates during WCIT 2017.
