STIRRING THE CITY SOUL

STIRRING THE CITY SOUL From urban inhabitation as Second Skin of the Earth to Smart Regions The Earth’s climate forms part of the First Skin, cities and their infrastructures, energy and production landscapes and other urban constructs form the Second Skin. How do we turn Climate Change into an opportunity to review the practice of architecture, urban design, urban planning, and the way humanity and their cities form the Second Skin of the Earth? This exhibition is a selection of work by Raoul Bunschoten and the platform CHORA that he founded in 1994 and is now active in London, Berlin, Shanghai and Chengdu. The work includes the Tempelhof Energy Incubator project of 2010, work in progress on the Taiwan Strait Region, a transnational project for a intelligent low carbon incubator and glimpses of a didactic and professional methodology introduced in the new chair for urban design and sustainable urban planning at the TU Berlin.
